Kenya has been chosen by the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Africa to host the World health Emergency Hub in Nairobi, according to latest information on http://www.health.go.ke

The Hub which will act as a Sub-Regional resource and response centre for Eastern and Southern Africa will be operational by the end of this year with initial 10 staff out of 22 required.

The Cabinet Secretary for Health, Dr. Cleopa Mailu commended the WHO for choosing Kenya and affirmed Kenya’s commitment to the realization and full operation of the hub.

He also expressed hope that the hub shall contribute to capacity building of locals and build linkages for emergency action with local and international partners.
